What is Tezos?

Tezos is a blockchain network and cryptocurrency that was launched in 2018. It was founded by Arthur and Kathleen Breitman and is based on a new type of blockchain architecture that allows for self-governance and formal verification of smart contracts.

Tezos uses a unique consensus mechanism called “liquid proof-of-stake” (LPoS), which enables token holders to vote on proposed changes to the protocol and receive rewards for participating in the governance process.

Tezos also allows developers to write and deploy smart contracts in a variety of programming languages, and offers features such as on-chain governance, formal verification of smart contracts, and the ability to upgrade the protocol without requiring a hard fork.

The native cryptocurrency of the Tezos network is called XTZ, which is used to pay for transaction fees and as a reward for block validators. Tezos aims to provide a secure, scalable, and self-amending blockchain platform for decentralized applications and digital assets.

What is an NFT?

NFT stands for non-fungible token, which is a unique digital asset that is stored on a blockchain. Unlike fungible tokens like cryptocurrencies, which are interchangeable and have the same value, non-fungible tokens are unique and have distinct properties and values.

NFTs are commonly used to represent digital art, collectibles, in-game items, and other unique digital assets. Each NFT contains a set of metadata that describes the characteristics of the asset, such as its title, creator, and date of creation. NFTs are typically created and traded on blockchain platforms that support them, such as Ethereum.

One of the key features of NFTs is their ability to prove ownership and authenticity of digital assets. Because each NFT is unique and stored on a blockchain, it can be verified as the original and authentic version of a particular digital asset. This has led to a growing market for NFTs, with some selling for millions of dollars in online auctions and marketplaces.
